Vincent Hawley Trunk Show Visits The W Gallery - Oct. 4th - 8th

The W Gallery is excited to welcome Vincent Hawley and some of his incredible work back to Cleveland for a special showing of his new series of raised vessels in all forms. Vincent has been exploring the properties of metal in this new series. His raisings explore the viscosity and limitations of metal, stretching and forming the pieces to explore all the aspects of what a vessel means. Come meet Vincent and learn about his new pieces in the gallery on October 4th and 5th. Select pieces of Vincent's work will be available to view from October 4th-8th

Vincent Wil Hawley, owner of VWH Jewelry, creates one-of-a-kind, hand-made pieces without limits. Vincent received his BFA from the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston (SMFA), and graduated from the Gemological School of America in Florence, Italy as well as apprenticing in Florence, Italy. Each VWH creation is produced simply with classic hand tools and can take up to six months to create.

Since 2002 Vincent has sought out the roots of one of jewelry’s most challenging and classic practices – engraving; specifically the art of Florentine Engraving. This art incorporates such integral detail that only the truly masterful hand can give it life. Using nothing but basic hand-tools, bulini, or gravers, the art incorporates extremely complex open work patterns or Traforo. A truly historical art form passed through the generations in Florence. Vincent ventures overseas, to work and study this fine art and continues to work in both New York, NY and Florence, Italy in his studios creating with this long lost art.
